Pataleshwar Cave Temple is also from one of the oldest archeological caves in India. Across the river on the Jangali Maharaj Road in Pune, there is 8th century temple of Pataleshwara. This temple has special feature is that it is not built using many stones instead is a single stone cut out from a big rock.
This temple has massive pillars built like the lines on the much Elephanta Caves in Mumbai and a beautiful design also carved on them.
