Kolkata (Calcutta) : Victoria Memorial

The main view to enjoy from the Maidan is the 'Victoria Memorial' and it is India's finest tribute to the memory of the Raj. It was built totally of white marble in curious blend of Italian Renaissance-cum-Saracenic style. This memorial was designed as per Italian Renaissance-Mughal style. Designer was Sir William Emerson.
