Kolkata city is the best preserver of the history in many of its museums. The Victoria Memorial, the Indian Museum and the Marble Palace are worth visiting but still Asutosh Museum located at the Calcutta University, is the main to visit. It has collection of art related things and Bengali folk art objects.
The Birla Industrial and Technological Museum and the Birla Academy of Art and Culture has nice collection of sculptures as well as the modern art. The Nehru Children's Museum has a collection of dolls and puppets. The small Postal Museum is there just next to the General Post Office.
Cima Gallery is located at the Sunny Towers, 43 Ashutosh Chowdhury Avenue and it displays contemporary art and it is open since 11 AM. to 7 PM. every day, except Sunday.
