The Academy of Fine Arts located on the Cathedral Road have very impressive collection of Indian art as well as Indian manuscripts. It is established in the year 1933 and the things collected in it includes contemporary Indian art, medieval Bengal and Indian textiles, miniature paintings, manuscripts.
It also has Rabindranath Tagore's personal belongings. This academy has exclusive artist's studio and many regular cultural shows are conducted here in the auditorium. It is open for all in-between 3.00 PM. to 8.00 PM. and it is closed on Mondays.
