India is country of unity in diversity so just like Hinduism, this is a place for other religions as well and so in India many non-Hindu festivals are also celebrated with a great enthusiasm. The Muslim communities celebrate Id all over the world with the namely Id-ul-Fitr, Id-ul-Zuha and Id-i-Milad are the three festivals of Muslims in India and are widely celebrated.
On this holy day all Muslims of any group or stratas from the society wear new clothes and visit mosques and offer namaaz. The famous urs centered at tombs in many towns in India namely Manakpur, Nagore, Ajmer and Delhi.
Eid-ul-Fitr : Ramzan Id
With the new moon is the end of Ramzan and is celebartded in the 9th month as per the Muslim year. As it is supposed that this is the month I which the holy 'Koran' was revealed. Many Muslims keep fast on each day of this month and completion of the ramazan is decide by the appearance of the new moon only and namaz are offered in mosques and Idgahs and elaborate festivities are held.
Bakri-Id : Id-ul-Azha or Id-ul-Zuha
Bakari Id is celebrated on the 10th day of Zilhijja at the time of Haj celebrations at Mecca and scarifications of goats or camels are done that day.
Eid-i-Milad : Barah-wafat
This is the twelfth day of Rabi-ul-Awwal and in the third Muslim year month and the word 'barah' means twelve days of the Prophet's sickness and in these days in mosques, learned men delivered sermons for focusing on life and noble deeds of the Prophet.
