Kanpur is the place which is located on the banks of the Ganga River. It is now days the most known industrial city in Uttar Pradesh state and it is also well-known for it's historic as well as the religious past. It was the head-quarter of a large Indian garrison in the war of 1857 and was known by name Cawnpore.

This is the main reason why Kanpur is known as, 'the Manchester of the East'. It is city of woolen, cotton, flour, vegetable oil mills, sugar refineries, the chemical works and leather industries.
