Tripura Sundari temple is one of the most beautiful and well-known temple of this city. This temple is also known with a name as Matabari. It is just 4 kilometers from Udaipur. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali. Goddess Kali here is worshipped by the red robed priests.
This old temple was built in the year 1501 and it is in typical classic Bengali style and located on the top of a hillock. Here one can see the mention in the ancient Tantras and the idol is also made up of reddish and black stone.
Kings generally carry smaller idol while going for the hunting trips or wars. Udiapur is famous for its lakes like Kalyansagar, Jagannath Dighi, Amarsagar, Mahadev Dighi and Sukhsagar.
