Vattakotai Fort
Vattakotai fort is only one seaside fort in the Tamil Nadu. The fort located near to the Kanyakumari which is one of the best tourist places from the India. The Kanyakumari is at the south of the India. This fort was built in period of Marthanda Varma. The fort was constructed under the supervision of Captain Eustachius De Lannoy and the ex-Dutch naval officer of the Voc. After the completion of the fort the Captain became the commander of the fort. He became forts commander by earning the trust of Travancore king Marthanda Varma.

The fort’s major beauty is that it has beautiful sea side area. The fort was made of granite blocks. The beach of black sands is near to the fort. The beach of black sand is about 7 km away form the Kanyakumari town. The entrance of the fort is also made with the help of granite blocks and other materials. Besides that there are no more things in the fort. The sea side area of the fort is the major attraction and other is beach of black sand.

The fort lies near to the Kantakumari and as Kanyakumari is one of the best tourist places in India so it is well connected to important cities. Kanyakumari is well connected to Chennai by road and also with rails so there is no problem to reach at Kanyakumari. One can also visit beach of black sand.
