Rajagiri Fort
The Rajagiri fort lies in the Tamil Nadu state. The fort exactly located 1 km away from the Gingee Market. The fort was built in the 12th century. The detailed information and history of the fort is not known. The fort is famous for the temple which is lies on the top of the fort. The fort was made of saffron and black rock. The meaning of the Rajagiri in tamil is that Kings hill.
Points of Attraction:
There are lots of points are available on the top of the fort and which attract visitors again and again. The main attraction of the fort is that the temple. The temple is not only attractive but also has well deigns on it. The other attracting points on fort are magazines, audience hall, clock tower, stable, store house for grains. Also there is one elephant tank. On the west side of the fort, there are two temples of Venu Gopalswami and other of Ranganath which is King of Vijaynagar. Sadatulla's Masjid, Mahabbat Khan's Masjid, Kalyan Mandap are the other attracting points on the top of the fort. There are two bath tabs which has continuous flow of water. Also there is a Chakrakulam Kunda.
Way to reach there:
The fort lies one kilometer away from the Gingee market. Gingee Market located 160 km away from the Chennai. And Chennai is one of the biggest city from the Tamil Nadu and hence well connected by all important cities. There are lots of auto rickshaws and private vehicles are available from Gingee market.
