Manora Fort
The Manora fort is located near to the Thanjavar in Tamil Nadu state. The fort was constructed in the period of Marathas. The fort was built by Serfoji 2nd in 1814. The fort was built as honor of successfully advance of the British over Napoleon Bonaparte. The design and the whole fort are very beautiful. The fort is famous for its design and architecture of it. The name of the fort is from the word 'Minaret'. The fort lies 65 km away from the Thanjavar.
Points of Attraction:
The important thing about this fort is that the fort has eight storied. Actually this fort has hexagonal shape. The height of this fort is around the 230 meters. In 2004, the fort gets damaged due the Indian Ocean Tsunami. In 2007, the fort was repaired by Sate Tourism Department. For addition they added other facilities just like garden for children, and building tourist shed.
Way to reach there:
The fort lies near to the Thanjavar that is at 65 km away from it. There are number of buses and trains are available to reach at Thanjavar. Thanjavar is well connected by all the important cities of Tamil Nadu state. One can see other tourist places also which are on the way of Thanjavar.
