  • Nahargarh Fort

    Nahargarh Fort was built by Jai sawai Singh of Jaipur. It is 1st of the 3 - forts made by him. The Fort situated at the top of rocky point of Aravalis and gives a amazing view of Jaipur. The word "Nahargarh" means 'Abode of Tigers', so it's also called as a Tiger Fort.

    Nahargarh fort was built mostly in the year of 1734, however more additions were done to it, by the subsequent rulers in 19th century.

    According to the well-known legend, this fort is named after a prince (Nahar Singh) whose spirit hindered the manufacture of fort. So it is said that tantrik-baba was requested and then the spirit agreed to run off the place provided that the fort was named after him.

    How to reach the fort :

    • By road : From Amber to Jaipur, Use jeep or hire rickshaw zigzagging for 1 & ½ kms before it straightens out to reveal the way to Jaipur.
