Jaigarh Fort

Jaigarh fort was made by Sawai Jai Singh in 1726 to provide a security to an area (Amber & Jaipur). It is located at a distance of 15 kilometers from Jaipur. As the fort situated on hilltop, it gives the great view of Amber fort and Jaipur town. The Jaigarh is the best example of a complete fort. It is very simple and dedicated structured fort.

Main attractions of the fort :

• Jaivana - Jaivana is the main attraction on the fort. It is the biggest cannon on the wheels in the World. Cannon was made in 1720 in a foundry of the Jaigarh. It is believed that the cannon was fired only once.
• Water Channels - Another attraction of the fort is water channels. These water channels were built inside the fort. These water channels were used for rainwater harvesting systems. The fort has 3-undergroung tanks. The largest water tank had the 60,00,000 gallons water store capacity.
• Fort Museum - The fort also has a wonderful museum. In museum, there is a nice collection of armory utilized during that time. It includes swords, shields, muskets, guns, and the cannon balls. Few old snaps of rulers & military generals of Jaipur have also been reserved in this museum.
