Anandpur Sahib City is established by 9th Guru Teg Bahadur, it is designed along with the road towards Dharmashala as well as manali in Himachal Pradesh in the year 1664, at the time when Sikhs had been forced into the foothills of the Himalaya due to the increased Mughal opposition.
It is nice spot on the east bank of the river Sutlej for the photographers as a picturesque spot at the foot of the Shivaliks. Anandpur Sahib with backdrop of Naina Devi hills is a place of a peace. Also it is one of the important Sikh religious centers in Punjab.
It is also a nice Sikh holiest site as having more number of historical Gurudwaras. It is the expanding town and it is a pilgrimage site for more than 300 years. At this place the last Sikh Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th guru gave the Sikhs new form of baptism and called the Sikhs thus baptized, Khalsa or the pure ones.
Anandpur Sahib became both school of Sikh learning as well as fortress. The nearest airport from Anandpur Sahib is Chandigarh and it is at a distance of 85 kilometer. It is well connected by the railways with many cities in Punjab like Ambala, at a distance of 139 kilometer. Also one can reach here by bus or train easily as it is just a distance of 75 kilometer on the northwest of Chandigarh in Haryana State.

Gurudwara Kiratpur Sahib is the place at which Guru Nanak initiated Saint Bughan Shah. The last rites of the three Gurus Har Kishan, Hargobad and Har Rai were performed here.

Gurdwara Kesgarh Sahib
Gurdwara Kesgarh Sahib is the largest gurdwara and it is the place where the Khalsa was born. Devotees sing many devotional songs inside this shrine. Many weapons are displayed here. Also there is informational office, kitchen and accommodation is provided.
In the month of March each year birth ceremony is celebrated with the-festival known as Holla Mohalla. A large group of pilgrims come together on the ground below the gurdwaras. Here they watch the colourful armies of Sikh warriors enacting the bloody scenes from religious history.
Gurudwara Anandgarh Sahib
Gurudwara Anandgarh Sahib is on the backside of the hill and facing towards the Keshgarh Sahib. It is distinguished by a small fort. Below the fort series of steps lead to a well, it is the scene for a nightly sound-and-light show. Guru Gobind Singhji used this fort during the war.
