  • Durgiana Temple

    Durgiana temple is the main centre of pilgrimage for Hindus devotees. This temple is surrounded by a beautiful tank and the temple is mainly dedicated to the goddess Durga. It is from the 16th century and also it has the same architecture as of the Golden Temple.

  • Guru Gobind's shrine

    Guru Gobind's shrine is located at the side of the flagstaffs and this shrine is dedicated to the 10th and the last guru, Gobind Singh, in the period from l675 to 1708. In the front side of the temple at entrance causeway is a square and it is the place for visitors to gather.

    Excursions in Amritsar

    Amanat Khan

    Amanat Khan is the old Mughal sarai is located in a tiny village and on the south west side of the Amritsar city. There is a horse shoe shaped tomb of Amanat Khan and it is surrounded by four minarets and a mosque is embellished with Persian inscriptions nearby.

    Ram Tirath

    Ram Tirath is at a distance of 10 kilometer from Amritsar city. This is a birth place of Lav and Kush, sons of Rama, king from the great legand Ramayana. Also there stood an ashram of sage Valmiki.

    Taran Taran

    Taran Taran is at a distance of 22 kilometer from Amritsar. There is a Gurudwara and this Taran Taran Gurudwara was built in the year 1768 and in memory of Guru Ram Das. Also the devotees believe that the waters of the tank are having the medicinal properties.

    Gobindwal Sahib

    Gobindwal Sahib is the place at a distance of 30 kilometer from Amritsar. This village is also served as the headquarter of the third guru, Guru Amar Das from 1552 to 1574. He was a great social reformer. There is also the samadhi of Angad Devji close by this place, who was the 2nd Sikh Guru.

    Hari Ke Patten

    Hari Ke Patten is a place at a distance of 38 kilometer from Amritsar. It is a picturesque picnic spot and the point at which the rivers, Sutlej and Beas meet. Also it is one of the favorite spot for many anglers.

    Baba Bakaia

    Baba Bakaia is at a distance of 45 kilometer from Amritsar. This a very magnificent gurudwara and it is dedicated to the ninth Guru named Teg Bahadur. It is located on Batala road and on east side of Amritsar city.

    Dera Baba Jaimal Singhji

    Dera Baba Jaimal Singhji is at a distance of 62 kilometer from Amritsar. It is located on the bank of the Beas River and at a distance of 5 kilometer from the Beas town. Also this place is the home of the Radha Saomi faith.

    Pathankot

    Pathankot is at a distance of 167 kilometer from Amritsar. It is very important tourist centre in Amritsar and located at the foot of the Himalayas and also it lies on the Jammu and Kashmir highway.

    Shahpur Kandi Fort

    Shahpur Kandi fort is at a distance of 7 kilometer from Pathankot and it is the little town with the name Shahpur. There are Muslim tombs near this fort and a mosque, a Shiva temple and a group of Buddhist caves are also seen nearby this place.
