Vishalgad
"Vishalgad" was built by Shilhar Bhoj Raja in a 13th century. In 1209, Shilhar Bhoj Raja was defeated by Sindhan Yadav and won the fort. After that the fort was won by Shivaji Maharaj.
It is also called Khelna/Khilna. It is one of the most essential forts of Shivaji Maharaj & the Great Maratha Empire.
The title "Vishalgad" means 'grand fort' in Marathi and was offered by Shivaji Maharaj after capturing it for the Maratha Kingdom in 1659.
The fort is located in Maharashtra. The fort is 76 kms North - West of Kolhapur, 60 kms North - West of Panhala Fort and 18kms south of the Kolhapur-Ratnagiri street.
