Vijaydurg Fort
Vijaydurg is situated in Devgad taluka of Sindhudurg district in Maharashtra. Vijaydurg also known as Victory Fort, was built by Chhattrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Vijaydurg is located in the Konkan region of Maharashtra which is known for its delicious Alphonso mangoes worldwide. As you will be approaching Devgad, you can see the mango trees along the road side.
However, farming and fishing are the main businesses of the people here.
Shivaji Maharaj built this fort to defend the seashore of the Arabian Sea. The design of the Vijaydurg fort is complicated which has a commander's house and three lines of defences. There are three equipped walls stand tall which are tested by the merciless sea.
Vijaydurg fort is still in the good condition. It is spread in the 6 hectares area.

- Vijaydurg Fort is 510 km and 245 km away from Mumbai and Goa respectively. Situated on Mumbai - Goa national highway.
