Versova Fort

Versova Fort is also called Madh Fort. It is small fort situated in north side of Mumbai, and ctually placed at Madh Island.

The fort was built by Portuguese in seventeenth century. It is very isolated and very difficult to attain. It is about 15 kms from Malad. Situated nearby Aksha Beach.

Its outer façade is unbroken however on the inside it’s decaying. As it is near to the Indian Naval Base, it's under the control of it and permission is essential to access it.

It is surrounded by communities of local fishermen.
