Pratapgad
Pratapgad is the mountain fort situated in dist. Satara, Maharashtra. It is 25 kilometres from Mahabalshwar. The fort was made in 1656 by Moropant Pingle under the authority of Shivaji Mahraja.
The fort is situated amidst haughty ranges of Sahyadris which rise to 4800 ft height above sea level. The fort is encircled by profoundly valleys.
One can view a powerful coastal Konkan from here. Other interested spots are Bhavani Temple & the Afzal Khan's last resting place.
How to go there
- You can reach there by Road. The Fort is at 226 kilomatres distance from Mumbai, and 25 kilometres from Mahabaleshwar.
- If you want to go by Rail then nearest railway station is Wathar – It is 85 kilometres away.
- And if you ant to go by Airway then Pune is the nearest air station – It is 137 kilometres away.
