  • Pauni

    Pauni is located in a Bhandara district and is approx 82 kilometres south – east of Nagpur. The name Pauni is originated from the name of king – Pavan. It is situated on bank of Wainganga river (also called South Ganga).

    Now it is hub of market and the trade for surrounding minor villages and attaches the small villages to main cities like Nagpur, Bhandara, Chandrapur and Gondhia. Many years ago, Pauni was well-known for its handloom textile business. It’s also a house of pilgrimages and boasts of several temples, high schools and colleges.

    The fort was built by Gond ruler Bakht Bulaand in eighteenth century and was acquired Raaghuji Bhosale in around 1710AD.

    Nagardhan, very old Nandivardhan, the initial capital of Vakatakas, is a 34 kilometres north - east of Nagpur city and 5 kilometres south side of the Ramtek, well-known for its equipped hill temple.
