Nhavi Killa Fort

The Nahvi killa is also known with Ratangad fort. The fort is in the Nasik District. The height of Ratangad fort is 1297. Ratanwadi village is at the base of fort. The specific history of Ratangad is not known. Ratanwadi is 25 km away from the Bhandardara.

Points of Attraction:

There are two routes from the Ratanwadi. The Ratangad fort is well procted by natural protection. There are two doors on both the side of the fort which are in good condition. There is no necessary to repair it. There is no problem of water as water source is available on the top of the fort. Also there is one big cave which is best option for staying on the top of the fort. You can stay safely in that cave. A bastion called Dundha Buruj and a nedha which is a natural hole in rock wall are the another points of attraction. From the top of the fort one can able to see natural beauty along with Bhandardara reservoir, Kalsubai peak, and fort such as Kulang, Madangad.

Route to go there:

Bhandardara reservoir is on the Sangamner - Igatpuri road. The distance between Bhandardara and the Ratanwadi is 25 kms. For that you have to require only thirty minutes. From Ratanwadi there are two routes which goes towards Ratangad. One route is from left side and one from the right side of the fort. The route from right take some more time as compared to left one. Right one take one and half hour to reach on the top of the fort.
