Naldurg and Jivdhan Forts

The Naldurga Fort is situated in the Osmanabad District in Maharashtra. The fort is about 40 km east away from the Solapur. Naldurga is the only architecture which is constructed below water. Due to its speciality the fort attracts many nature lovers and trekkers also. In the fort there are many bastions are available. There are many buildings which are not in good condition but says something about the history.

The inner portion of the fort is enclosed within ruined walls. The highest point in the fort is Upli Buruj. The dam connects fort and the Ranamandala and is constructed in the Boru river. The dam and the Pani Mahal were built in the peroid of Ibrahim Adil Shah II.

Osmanabad is well known city and is connected to all important cities. So, one can easily reach Osmanabad. And Pune is the nearest airport to this Naldurg Fort. Also Solapur is the nearest railway station that is it just 40 km away from the Naldurg Fort.

This fort is located in the Pune District and in Junnar Tahasil. The fort is in the Malshej ghat subrange. The height of this fort is 3754 feet and it is in the hard category. On the top of the fort there are many steps but all these steps are in bad conditions that is all are broken. These steps are broken by British soldiers in the 1818 with the help of dynamites. This fort is about 140 km away from Pune. Ghatghar is lies in the base of this fort. Also there is a thick jungle at the base of this fort.

Routes to reach there:

There are two routes to reach there that is via Ghatghar and via Naneghat. The first one some easy and require four to five kms to reach on the top of the fort. Second one is very hard as it requires rock climbing technique to reach on the top the fort.
