Malhargad Fort
The fort is in the Pune District. The height of this fort is 3100 feet. The grade of this fort is very easy. This is the last fort which was built by Marathas. Actually this fort was built by Panse in the peroid of Peshawas.Panse was the Sardar of Peshawas that is chief-in-charge of Maratha TOFKHANA. Water is not available on the fort. There is no food facility on the fort. So, one should carry water as well as food. You have to require one and half hour to see complete fort.
Points of Attraction:
The walls of this fort are small as compare to other fort. The wall does not give impact of strengh. There are two temples in the fort one is of Lord Mahadev and other is of Lord Malhar. There are three to four wells but all are dry. Also there is pond and this pond is full of water in winter and rains. But the water of this pond is not portable. One can see Palace of Panase which is lies in the Soneri village. The main use of this fort can only be that to keep an eye of the Diveghat.
Way to reach there:
There are two routes to reach at the Malhargad fort. First one is, go to Pune then from Pune go to Hadapsar. Then go to Diveghat-Dive-Sonori. If you reach at the Soneri the fort is not far away from you. The second route is also from Pune. From Pune catch the bus which go towards Saswad. And then onwards to Diveghat. Then from here get down at Phulewadi. From hare fort is at the 3 km away. From Soneri you have required at least 30 to 45 minutes to reach at the fort.
