Mahim Fort

Mahim fort is in Mahim in Mumbai. The hisoty of this fort is that the Dom Joao de Monoy which was the commander defeated the commander of Mahim fort in 1516. Portuguese give up the island of Mahim as a gift to Charles 2nd of England in 1661. In 1884, when was the British controlled this fort the fort was strengthened by Sir Thomas Grantham. Then this fort was used as watchtower to watch the attacks of Portuguese and Marathas. According to historical accounts, the fort had 100 soldiers and 30 cannons at that time.

Points of Attraction:

From the top of this fort one can able to see Bandra, Mahim, and Worli. The Bandra is at north side, Worli is at South side, and Mahim is at East side of the fort. The fort is currently in bad condition, suffering from governmental neglect, infringement of slums, and exposure to tidal corrosion. The reponsibility of this fort is handled by state government and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.

How to reach there:

As Mumbai is well connected by all important cities so, there is no problem to reach there. You are able to reach there by any that is by bus, train, aeroplane. The nearest air port of the fort is Mumbai.

Laling Fort

The Laling fort is situated in Dhule District. The fort is at six miles from the Dhule city. The fort lies on the top of the Laling fort. During the period of Faruqi Kings this fort belongs to one of the most important forts from the Khandesh region.

The history of this fort is that the fort was built in the period of Faruqi Kings. During the year of that is from 1370 to 1399 the fort was controlled by Malik Raja.

If you want to visit this fort then go to Dhule city. Dhule city is strongly connected by important cities. So, one can easily go to the Dhule. From Dhule there are lots of buses and private vehicles are available. From Dhule the fort is at the 6 miles a distance.
