Madangad fort is in the Nasik District. This fort belongs to Kalsubai range. Madangad is hill fort with grade very difficult. The height of this fort is 4900 feet. Madangad is one of the difficult forts to climb in the Sahyadri. The best time to visit this fort is December and January. There is no food facility. Water is available on the top of fort in water tanks but it available till February. There is one cave on the top of the fort in which fifteen to twenty trekkers can stay. The fort is so beautiful.

Attracting points are:

This fort is adjoining fort and hence the area of this fort is too small as compared to Alang and Kulang. There is one big cave which accommodates nearly twenty trekkers at a time. Also there are two water tanks on the top of the fort. But the main problem is that the water is available only till February. There are number of forts which you can see from the top of this Madangad fort. One can able see Kulang, Alang, Chota Alang, Ratnagad, Ajyagad. You have to require at least one and half hour to see complete fort.

How to reach there:

Actually there are two routes to reach on the top of the fort and both go through ridge between Alagngad and Madangad. The first stop is Igatpuri. Your route is Igatpuri-Ghoti-Pimpalnermor-Ambewadi. The distance between Ghoti and Ambewadi is 32 kms. Ambewadi is the village from which you can able to see three forts that is Alang, Kulang, and Madan. Then go towards ridge which takes approxiamately three hours. Once you reach at the ridge then you can see Madan fort at the right side and Alang fort at the left side. The second route is via Ghatghar. It takes approxiamately four hours to reach at the ridge between Alang and Madan.
