Kulaba and Sarjekot Forts
As Alibaug is a one famous town in kokan, so no problem to reach there. Kulaba and Sarjekot are forts which are located near to this Alibaug town.
Kulaba Fort:
The Kulaba fort is one of the famous fort from Rajgad district. It is totally made up with huge rocks. This fort has 17 bastions. Temple of Lord Ganesh called Ganesh panchayatan is at center of this fort. The fort has big door called Maha Darwaja. And the other door which is at sea-side called Yeshwant Darwaja. The protective wall of this fort is still in very good condition. There is another temple of Gulbai, an 'Avtar' of 'Mahishasurmardini'.
Sarjekot Fort:
The Sarjekot fort is small as compared to Kulaba fort. These two forts are near to each other and connected with small bridge. The Sarjekot fort is just like small brother of Kulaba. Also this Sarjekot fort has our bastions. The construction of Sarjekot is good and in welll condition as compared to Kulaba.
How to reach there:
There are lots of S.T. buses available to Alibag from various near by places as well as from Pune and Mumbai. These two forts are place side by side. It is safe to see forts when the water goes back at low tide.
