Kothaligad Fort

The Kopthaligad is a small fort situated in the Shahapur Taluka of Thane District. The Peth is the another name of the fort. Base village of the fort is Ambivili. The height of this fort is about 1550 feet. The fort is situated at the east side of Karjat. The fort is about 25 kms from the Karjat station. The history of this fort is that the fort was captured by British in 1716. After that Bapurao who was from the generation of Bajirao captured the fort. In 1817, the fort was recaptured by British.

There is a small temple on the top of the fort and big cave is at the base of the fort. Also one water tank is on the top of the fort. And another is at the base of the fort and this tank is near to the cave. One tunnel which has structure like funnel is also on the top of the fort. One can able to see Karjat and Bhimashankar area from the top of the fort.

Konkan Diva Fort

Konkan Diva is a small hill rising above the Kawlya ghat. The grade of this fort is difficult due to its height. The height of this fort is about 3397 feet. From the top of this fort one can see lights of all villages of Konkan and hence the name. Konkan Diva is located on the edge of the ghats. If you want to visit this fort then first go to Pune. From Pune catch the bus of Panshet. Then go towards Gondkhal and walk to Ghol to reach the fort.
