Ghosalgad Fort

The ghosalgad fort is in the Raigad District. Base village of the fort is Ghosala. The height of this fort is 1200 feet. The grade of this fort is easy. The fort is in the Roha region. Ghosalgad is 9 km south of Roah. The Ghosalgad is at the east side of the Murud which is 32 km away. The name of fort which is on the hill is due to the village Ghosala. The fort is located in between Sawle and Ranvanda creek. The main use of this fort was to watch the surrounding area and ruler which rule on the Murud.

Points of Attraction:

Actually this base village that is Ghosala is on the considerable height. So, you have to require minimum time to reach on the top of the fort from this Ghosala village. There is one water pond on the top of the fort. The name of the pond is Wajta Haud. There are remains of building are on the fort. There are temples of Lord Bhavani and Ganpati. There is no problem of water as water cisterns are available on the top of the fort. One can see nature beauty along with Murud creek, Talagad fort. Also one can see the beautiful view of the Ghosala village which at the base of the fort.

Way to reach there:

There are number of buses are available from Mumbai to go towards fort. There are private buses are available from Murud to Ghosala. The distance between Murud and Ghosala is around 32 km. The time require to reach at base village is half and hour. From base village 15 minutes are required to reach on the top of the fort.
