Gambhirgad Fort
The Gambhirgad is located in the Thane District. The fort is lies on the Gujrat border hence this fort is last fort of the Thane District. The fort is of Hill type fort. The height of this fort is 2250 feet. The grade and range of the fort is medium and Palghar respectively. The 'Gambbhir' means 'Serious' in English. The surrounding area and the fort are as per the name of the fort that is 'Serious'.
One important thing about this fort is that there is no accommodation facility on the fort. Patilwadi is lies at the base of the fort. The water is available on the fort in tank but rope is required to take water from the tank. There is no food available.
Attracting Points:
On the top of the fort there are lots of wild plants available. There is a tank on the fort but due to low water you have require rope to take water from tank. Also here are 2-3 water tanks but these tanks are buried under soil due to the erosion. The pinnacles attract attention because of their beauties. Besides that there is nothing to special to see. One can able to see forts such as Asheri and Adsul from this fort.
Route to go there:
There is one way available to reach on the top the fort. The route is from Kasgaon. To reach at Kasgaon first go to Mumbai form Mumbai go to Bhoisar. Then go to Aslon. The Patilwadi is at 3 km away from this Aslon. The Patilwadi village is at the base of this fort.
Gagangad Fort
The Gagangad Fort was built by King Bhoj of Panhala in the 12 century. The fort is near to the Bavda town. The fort is near to the Kolhapur city.The distance between Kolhapur and the fort is about 57 km.
The fort is at the Southwest of the Kolhapur. There is no problem of the water. The grade of the fort is easy. Kohlapur is well connected to important cities so no problem to reach there.

How to go there:
First go to the Mumbai then from Mumbai go to Kolhapur by bus. Catch the bus of Bavda town. Then the fort is at 2 kms form this Bavda, The fort is at Southeast of the town.
