Bitangad Fort
Bitangad Fort is located in Nashik Dstrict. Maidara is base village of the fort. The grade of the fort is easy. The height of the fort is about 3600 feet from sea level. One day is sufficient for the visit to this fort. And you have required two and half hours to reach on the top of fort. There is no problem of water as there is water cisterns are available.
Arrange something about food because there is no source of food on the fort. Also you have to able to stay on fort that is in the cave or in the Hanuman Mandir.
This fort is located in the kalsubai range of Sahyadri which is near to the Nashik Distric. There are other forts such as Avandh, Patta alias Vishramgad, Pandharya, Mahankal near to the this fort.
Attracting Points:
The fort has great view in the Kalsubai range. Also there are one temple of Hanuman and cave. Besides that one can able to surrounded forts such as Avandh, Patta alias Vishramgad, Pandharya, Mahankal etc.
How to go there:
To reach on the fort go to Igatpuri then from Igatpuri catch bus of Taked. From there you have required to walk about 10 kms through Maidara which directly goes to the Bitangi village. Reach on the top of fort but for that you have to require to spent one hour more.
Chakan Fort
Chakan fort is located in Pune Distric. As this chakan fort is located on the National Highway 50 so, there is no problem to reach there. The history of this fort is interesting as the Maratha-British war was fought in this fort.
Points of Attraction:
Due to more age of the fort the requires some maintenance. Besides that the fort has beautiful history. There is one temple of Lord Vishnu which is Avatar of ‘Varah’ that is pig and it is the third Avatar of the Vishnu. Other temple of Lord Shri Chakreshwar which is in the ford is not in good condition.
How to go there:
As Pune is well connected by the transportation that is by road, Train, and by Air so there is no problem to reach on the Chakan fort. And this Chakan fort is near to Pune. Also there are some private vehicles available which goes towards this Chakan fort.
