Bhushangad Fort
The Bhusangad is the hill fort. The fort lies in Khatav Taluka in Satara District. The fort was built by Singhan 2nd of Devgiri Yadavs. The exact date of the construction is not known. In the period of Shivaji Maharaj that is in 1676 the fort was repaired by Shivaji and so it is usually attributed to Shivaji. There is facility of accommodation and water on the top of the water. The food facility is directly available in the Satara city. The good hotels are available in Satara city. There are daily buses and trains available from Pune and Mumbai to Satara. So there is no problem to reach at Satara. The distance between Satara and the Bhushangad fort is not too long.
Attracting points are:
The shape of the fort is just like oval. The fort rises 600 feet above the surrounding plain. The top of this fort is almost flat. The area of this fort is around 300 square yards. The condition of the fort is not good. There is one temple of Harinaidevi. The responsibility of this temple is handled by Kulkarnis family. Also there is temple of Lord Maruti.
Mazagaon Fort
The Mazagaon fort is in the Mumbai. This fort was British fort and was built in 1680. The fort was razed in 1690 by Siddi general Yakut Khan. The fort lies at the Joseph Baptista Gardens. And a top Bhandarwada hill outside the Dockyard road railway station. The Yakut Khan first attacked on Mumbai and successfully capture the Sewri fort and after that this Mazagaon fort.
Another beautiful spot is Joseph Baptista Gardens. One can able to visit this Garden. Right now this garden known with Mazagaon garden. The total area of this garden is 1.5 acres. Mumbai is the one of the biggest city form Maharashtra state. And Mumbai is well connected by road, rail, and also by air. One can easily reach at the Mumbai. There is no accommodation and water problem as this fort is near to the Mumbai.
