Bandra Fort
The Bandra Fort is located in Mumbai. The name of this fort in Portuguese is Castella de Aguada that is 'Fort of the Waterpointh'. The fort was built by Portuguese in 1640. The main use of this fort is to watch on the Mahim Bay, Arabian Sea, and on the southern island of Mahim. Actually this fort located over several layers. The height of this fort from sea level is about 24 meters. The history of this fort was in 1739 the fort was captured by Marathas. The Marathas ruled this fort until 1761. After that the fort was captured by British. There is no problem of water as there is fresh water available. In the period of Portuguese, the ship which passed through this fort uses the freshwater for drinking purpose and hence the name.
Points of Attrction:
The fort is famous for its beauty and as it is located at land's end in Bandra. There is one gateway which is not in good condition. Also the brickwork of the fort is in the danger zone due to the tidal. Right now the Taj Land's End hotel is responsible for the maintenance of the fort. Bandra fort has been featured in several Hindi films. The recently films which featured here are Dil Chahta Hai and Budha Mil Gaya.

As Mumbai is well known city in Maharashtra state there is no problem to reach at the Mumbai. Mumbai is well connected by road, rail, and also with air. There are number of buses and trains are available from all other important cities to reach at Mumbai.
