Bahula and Basgad Forts

  • Bahula Fort

    Bahula fort is a hill fort. The height of this fort above sea level is about 3120 feet. The fort is located in Ambe Bahula village which is in the Nasik Distric. This fort is lies in the Tryambakeshwar range. There is no problem of water on the fort. But it is necessary for you to arrange something about food on the fort.

    Attraction on the fort:

    The top of the fort is very small as compared to base. The top of the fort is triangular in shape. The fort contains ruined arched building like a bombproof. You can able to see Artillery Centre of Devlali Camp from fort. Also there is one cave and one water tank. The peak of the fort is within the range of Artillery centre. The peak of the fort is within the range of Artillery centre.

    Way to reach there:

    There are two routes to reach on the Bahula Fort:

    First one is from Nashik-Igatpuri road. Go towards Igatpuri from Nashik and get down at Ambe Bahula Phata. Then go to Vilholi Phata which is not far away from Bahula Phata. Ambe Bahula is the base village for the fort. And then go on the top of the fort by climbing.

    The other route for the fort is from Vadiware. Get down on Vadiware which is on Nashik-Igatpuri road. Back-facing the Vadiware village there is one mountain which name is Raigad. Remember this is a Raigad mountain and not a fort. And the Bahula fort is in the front of you.

  • Basgad Fort

    This Basgad fort is located near to the Kasara Railway station. This fort is famous for trekking. The height of this fort is about 3564 feet. And the grade of this fort is medium due to its simple structure. There is good source of water and food so don’t worry about it.

    Route to go there:

    First go to Kasara Railway station then from Kasara Railway station go towards Khodala -Mokhada and get down at Khoch Phata. And then go to Utwadwadi which is 5 Km and located at the base of the fort.
