Avchitgad Fort
The fort Avchitgad is lies in the Raigad District and in Roha region. The base village of the fort is Medha. The height of this fort is around 1000 feet. The grade of this fort is very easy. The fort is on the north side of the Kundalika River and 3 to 4 miles from Roha. The fort played important role in history as it is headquater of Subha in the Nizamshahi Dynasty of Ahmednagar.
Points of Attraction:
There are many things on fort which are attracting you. The main thing about this fort is that still fort is in the good condition. There is one bastion which was used to watch on the surrounding area. The main entrance of the fort called as 'Mahadarwaja'. If you enters the fort there is one statue of Lord Khandoba which is very beautiful. There is one Mahadev Mandir, Pingalsai Devi Chi Ghumati along with remains of some old constructions. From the top of the fort one can see other forts such as Telbaila, Sarasgad, Raigad, Dhangad, Sudhagad, and Savashna gad.
Way to reach there:
There are two ways are available to reach on the top the fort. Out of which one go through Pingalsai village and other from Medha. The route for the fort goes via thick woods. To reach on the top of the fort you have to require one and half hour. The forest which is around the fort is full of varieties birds and animals. One can see monkey, leopards, foxes, hares, and boar on the way of the fort.
