Kolar is on the eastern side of Karnataka state and it is famous for erstwhile Kolar Gold Mines. It is one of the cool hill stations and fortresses. It is nice place for the adventure sports namely rock climbing, parasailing and trekking.
It is also trekker's delight and it is accessible via two ways, one side with steep steps and motorable route on the other side. There is a granite temple named Neelakanteshwara temples and it is located at the foothills. The village of Seethi also has temples of Kalabhairava and Shripathishwara.
