Dharmasthala is at a distance of 75 kilometers away from Mangalore city and the shrine of Sri Manjunatha is also seen here. Sri Manjunatha temple and kadri caves are main attractions of tourists visiting this place. It has gardens and now with amusement park for children encouraging the tourism business at this place.
This is a temple form 1068 BC and the central image of Lokeshwara is one of the remarkable seen here. Previously it was served by the Madhava Vaishnava priests. It is Jain temple and it recently installed 12 meters monolith of Bahubali, which was erected in the year 1973 and also one can see a museum there.
There is provison of prasad as a free meal distributed to all the visitors. This wonderful pilgrim also has accommodation for free for its visitors. In the days of Lakshadeepostava festival, here ten lash lamps are lit and all the people from this pilgrim take a holy dip in river Netravati, which is at a distance of 3 kilometers.
One can also see the Jain bastis in the Dharmasthala. The actual festival season starts with Diwali here and it mainly includes Manjunatheshwara festival of three days in the month of November every year.
