Bellary Fort
The Bellary fort is one of the important and well designed forts from all over the India. The fort has unique design and hence it was informed as one of fantabulous fort in India by the British administrator. The fort was built by Hanumappa Nayaka during the period of Vijayanagara emperors. The fort actually lies on the top of the Ballai Gudda. In the period of Hyder Ali that is 1769 the fort was captured by Nayaka. Then this fort was repaired with the help of French Engineer. And this task was done by Hyder Ali who was the ruler at that time.

Basically this fort is divided in to two parts such as upper fort and lower fort. The upper fort has no accommodation for. But there is no problem of water on the upper fort as there are number of tanks on it. Also there is one temple on upper fort. The lower fort is at the east side of the fort. There are number of bastions inside fort but all of them are in bad condition. You can enter into lower fort from east and also from west side. On lower fort there is one temple of Lord Hanuman.
How to reach there:
The bus station is just outside the main city. Also this Bellary is strongly connected by rail to other important cities such Bangalore, Belgaumm, Raichuru, Tirupati, Hubali, and many more. The Bellary airport is away from the main Bellary.
