Bangalore Fort
The Bangalore fort is located in the Bangalore city and opposite to the City Market. The fort was built by Kempe Gowda. First this fort was built with the help of Mud. After that the fort was built with the help of stone. This was done in the period of Hyder Ali the father of Tipu Sultan (1761).
After Hyder Ali the fort was successfully controlled by the Tipu Sultan. And hence this fort is also known with Tipu Sultan fort. The fort was captured by British East India Company in third Mysore war from Tipu Sultan. The fort was captured under the leader ship of Lord Cornwallis in 1791. The main attraction of the fort is that the palace which is totally built with the help of wood. And hence it is wooden palace. Also there is one temple of Venkatramanna. This temple was built by Wodeyar ruler in 16th century. The flag pole of the temple is not in good condition. This flag pole was damaged due to the cannon balls fired during the Mysore war. The Bangalore fort is located in the Bangalore city and hence there is no problem to reach there. You can use any of the transportation that is train, air, road to reach there as Bangalore is well connected to other cities in Karnataka. The Bangalore fort is located exactly opposite to city Market. Besides that you can visit other attractive places in Bangalore which are near to this fort.
