- By Air - This place can be reached very easily by airways as it is connected with many of the domestic airlines like Mumbai, Daman, Ahmedabad, Delhi and Pune.
- By Rail - Vadodara is also well connected by the western Railways to cities like Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Delhi.
- By Road - It is place from where and to go where, the Gujarat State transport buses as well as the private luxury coaches from various cities of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Maharashtra and Rajasthan are available. Vadodara is at a distance of 112 kilometers from Ahmedabad and it is located at 420 kilometers from Mumbai.

- Nazarbaugh Palace - Nazarbaugh Palace is built in old classical style and used on ceremonial occasions by the Gaekwads in old days.
- Kirti Mandir - Kirti Mandir is the family vault of the Gaekwad rulers and it is well known as Indian artist Nandlal Bose decorated this place with murals.
- Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum - Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum is having the collection of art treasures of many old masters like Murillo, Raphael and Titian.
- Makarpura Palace - It is beautiful palace designed totally as per the Italian style and the palace is now days used for Indian Air Force as training school.
- Pratap Vilas Palace at Lalbaugh - Pratap Vilas Palace at Lalbaugh was built as the residence of royal family; it is very huge and extravagant building and designed in the Indo-Saracenic style. This palace houses very nice collection of bronze, marble sculptures and the old armoury. Pratap Vilas is also known as Lalbagh Palace, now day is a Railway Staff College.
- Vadodara Museum and Picture Gallery - This gallery was founded in the year 1894 by the Gaekwads and it has many impressive collections related to Natural History, Geology, Art and Archaeology and Ethnology. The museum also has good Indian carvings and statues.
- Tambekarwada - Tambekarwada is very famous for the wall paintings it has on its entire walls inside the building. It was one of the old painted havelis and 4-storey. It was the residence of the Vadodara Diwan, now days used for the Archaeological Survey, but it is worth visiting. It is located in-between Dandia Bazar and Raopura Road.
