Miramar Beach Miramar Beach, Panaji, Goa

Along the Mandovi estuary the Miramar beach is the nearest beach to Panaji and it is at a distance of 3 kilometer on the western side of Panaji. One can enjoy the pleasant drive with many beautiful views over the sea. But Miramar is urban in character and also the water is polluted, so this beach is not so attractive. If you are planning the beach holiday at this place then surely go for other option as it is better to visit once.

On the way to D.B. Marg of Panjim and past the Kala Academy, the Campal district, at a distance of 4 kilometers is the Miramar beach. This is the sandy beach and it is most popular as more Indians are seen here. One can also enjoy many nice views across the sea of the Fort Aguada and the lighthouse rotating beam.

This place is best if you want to have a short break in Panjim and enjoy the beach sunset. There are rows of the bhelpuri stalls lining the road and are sponsored by many local people in Panaji.

Dona Paula Dona Paula Beach, Panaji, Goa

Dona Paula is really a very peaceful beach and it is a small palm fringed beach with various trees and shrubs. One can take the straight up on the Miramar beach road and at a distance of 4 kilometer, this beach named as Dona Paula is located. It is a rocky headland and it separates Zuari and Mandovi estuary.

Dona is the Portuguese word and it means madam. This beach got such a dramatically name after an incidence happened here. Daughter of a Viceroy reportedly jumped from the hills as she was not getting the permission for marriage with Gaspar Dias, a fisherman.

There is a twin sculpture on the Dona Paula jetty representing a man and a woman is that of a very famous philosopher and his wife, Robert Knox. One can also visit the Raj Bhavan and the state governor's residence after this spot as these are in the nearby places from here.

There is a low Iaterite cliff which makes headland joining the mainland with a short causeway. There is a boat which transports vehicles or people across a body of water crosses over to Vasco and operates on a regular schedule. Across the Mandovi River to Fort Aguada there is a viewing platform and it gives many fantastic views over the sweep of the seashore.

Vanguinim Beach

Vanguinim beach is on the eastern side of Dona Paula beach and this is the Jesuits enjoyed as very much productive agricultural land in Goa. It is quite remote place in Goa.

One can have many buses to the Dona Paula as well as the Miramar beach from Kadamba bus terminal of Panaji in Goa.
