Pawapuri
Pawapuri in Bihar state is the main sacred place of Jains and it is since Mahavira, who was believed as the founder of Jainism gained enlightenment at this place. Pawapuri is also known as Apapuri and it is at a distance of 38 kilometers from city Rajgir and it is at a distance of 90 kilometers from city Patna.
It is belief of deeply religious Jain peoples that all the sins end, after meeting this holy Jain pilgrim. As they also believe that the last tirthankar as well as founder of Jainism, Mahavira, died as well as cremated at this place only, about 500 BC.
when he was cremated, the demand for the sacred ash of him was so huge that a considerably large soil was taken out from funeral pyre and lotus filled tank was created at that place. It is one of the main Jain pilgrims worth visiting. Also there is a well known 'Jalamandir' temple full of marble is erected on that site. One more Jain temple is located at the same place and it is known with a name 'Samosharan'.
Parasnath Hill
It is well known that out of total 24 tirthankars, 22 of them achieved salvation at this place and that's why it is one of the most famous and sacred Jainism pilgrim centre.

How to go
- By Air - It is near from the airport of Ranchi and that is also at a distance of 170 kilometers, but this place further is well connected by Indian Airlines with many cities in India like Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar, Patna and Delhi.
- By Rail - Parasnath is itself a railhead and it is connected with main cities like Gaya and Kolkata. Kolkata is at a distance of 306 kilometers and Gaya is at a distance of 152 kilometers from this place. Nimiaghat is also a railhead, at a distance of 12 kilometers from this place and located near a foot of hill. There is also one more railway station convenient to go from is Dhanbad and located at 84 kilometers from here.
- By Road - Parasnath is the place which is well routed and so easy to travel by road from Bodhgaya. Bodhgaya is located at 160 kilometers from here, Kolkata is at a distance of 399 kilometers from this place and Chennai is at a distance of 1547 kilometers from Parasnath. Indian cities like Delhi at 1160 kilometers away from Parasnath and Giridhi at 36 kilometers, Madhuban is on a distance of 15 kilometers, Patna with a distance of 282 kilometers and Pawapuri also on 220 kilometers away from here. A simplest way to reach this hill from Dumri, at a distance of 20 kilometers is by car. One can also enjoy the remaining road up on the hill with the help of a vehicle like jeep, or also love to walk on such roads and enjoy your tours.
