  • Sasaram

    Sher Shah Mausoleum at Sasaram in Bihar

    Sasaram is one of the Muslim sites located between Gaya and Varanasi, it is the well known Indian Highway built in mid-16th century, on the Grand Trunk Road. There is a impressive mausoleum of Sher Shah, built after his death in the year 1545, is worth visiting at least once. There are many other Muslim monuments and one more tomb seen is of Haran Khan, who was a father of Sher Shah.

    Sher Shah's mausoleum is 500 meter away and it is set in a very nice and large artificial lake, so it appears like floating in water. There is a fine grey sandstone quarried at Chunar placed near provides a somber base for red, blue, white and yellow geometrical pattern.

    There is a dome which was painted white, but with a golden colored lotus crown at the top of it is fixed. There is a third tomb of Salim, son of Sher Shah and it was very larger and again set in a lake like Sher Shah Tomb, but was never completed due to his untimely death. There is one memorial of architect Aliwal Khan and a tomb of Bhakiyar Khan located in Chainpur nearby these tombs.

    There is Maa Tara Chandi temple, which is of Goddess Kali and it visited in a huge amount by the Hindu crowed in the month of Dusserah. Also one can visit Samrat Ashoka Pillar near Chandan Shaheed located in a cave, in Kaimur hill.

  • Arrah or Arra

    In the year 1857, the scene of a fierce siege, mutiny is at a distance of just 60 kilometer from the Sasaram. There is a small house located at Arrah, in the grounds of the Judge House, and now it was held by 11 European civilians and 50 Sikh police, The Billiard Hall means the Defense House is in the Maharaja College grounds and the Church, which contains several plaques and these are the reason why visitors attract here. Arrah is located on the branch of the great irrigation work in Bihar, the Son canals.

    Maner
    Located Near Patna in Bihar state and it is well known for the tomb of Yahya Maneri.

    Maner, Bihar tourism

    Maner is one of the earliest Islamic centers in Bihar. It lies at a distnace of 30 kilometer from Patna and it was gained its name after Sufi saint, Hazrat Mukhdum Vahiya Maneri from the 13th century. There is a tomb, the Bodi Dargah, is a very nice and sacred shrine.

    The Chotti Dargah or a mausoleum commemorating the Muslim saints' disciple, Shah Daulat, is very famous for the architectural style in which it was built. Here annual urs fair is also held.

  • Biharsharif

    Biharsharif is at a distance of 13 kilometer from Nalanda and it remained as the only Islamic cultural centre up to the 16th century. There is a dargahs, a tomb of Mukhdoom Shah, saint from a 13th century and Malik Ibrahim Baya, are the main attractions of huge number of Muslims, mainly in the days of annual urs fair held here.
