Chiriya Tapu

Chiriya Tapu is located at a distance of 30 kilometer on the southern side of the South Andaman Island and this place is also well-known as the Birds Island in this city. It is situated in the southern most tip of South Andaman and it is a small fishing village with beaches and mangroves.

One can almost certainly arrange the boats from this place to Cinque Island and one can also take pleasure on the beach, which is almost at a distance of 2 kilometer from south of Chiriya Tapu. It has some of the snorkeling in this area. This island is also well-liked by bird lovers for bird watching.

Cinque Island

The Island has 4 governing hillocks divided by slender passageways of sandy beaches. The sea around Cinque Island is perfect for water sports such as scuba diving, snorkeling, wind surfing etc. The vacant islands of North and South Cinque are part of the wildlife sanctuary south of Wandoor, just off Rutland Island. They are bordered by coral reefs, and are amongst the most gorgeous islands in the Andamans.

Havlock Island

Havlock Island is at a distance of 54 kilometer on the north-east side of South Andaman Island and it covers over 100 square kilometer area and it is occupied by most of the Bengali settlers. There are many white sand beaches, picture-postcard and turquoise waters and good snorkeling.

Even though there are coral reefs, it is still the marine life of turtles, dolphins and very big fish, which are making it more appealing. It is the only northern third island which is settled and the villages here are referred by numbers. There is pleasant resort situated in the lap of gorgeous virgin beaches and clean surroundings.

Jolly Buoy & Red Skin Islands

Jolly Buoy & Red Skin Islands are the two islands and both are situated in the MG Marine National Park and those offer the breath taking under water view of coral and aquatic living. Jolly Buoy is little island and it is located at the middle of this park. Beach palm umbrellas are the shed makers here. It is a perfect place for first time snorkelers.

Red Skin has a restricted beach coast and it is mostly on the west side and there are the caves on the north and mangrove swamp towards the south and the east side.

Mount Harriet and Madhuban

Mount Harriet is situated across the bay and northern side of the South Andaman Island. There is a natural path up to the top and, but require Forest Department permissions. There is a Mount Harriet National Park on the north and elephants are occasionally taught for the logging camps. It was the summer headquarter of the Chief Commissioner in past in the British Empire and it is also a perfect place for trekking.

It is positioned at a distance of 45 kilometer from South Andaman Island by road and 15 kilometer by ferry and road. Mount Harriet is the uppermost peak in South Andaman. Madhuban is also easy to get to by boat, but there are occasionally arranged trips are there by the tourist office and travel. This is also a trekking area and it is wealthy in flora and fauna and a variety of widespread butterflies.
