Main Attraction:   Himalayan Ibex
Dalhousie (1,525 to 2,378 m)
Built across five hills, Dalhousie has magnificent buildings of the Raj era. There are lovely walks and fine views of snow capped peaks. Dalhousie is popular with Punjab tourists and finding accommodation during the early summer and peak Indian holiday periods can be difficult. The high season runs from mid-April to mid-July, mid-September to mid-November and mid-December to early January.
Fauna
The sanctuary is rewarding for the view but its Ibex, deer, bears and leopards rarely come out of their hiding. Visitors should look for pheasants and Serow in these forests but should be beware of Black bear, which can be encountered often in the area.
Best Time to Visit: April-June & October-November.
