Itanagar is the capital of Arunachal Pradesh which is the easternmost Indian state. Itanagar is located at the foot of the hills and is approximately 350 meters above the sea level. This capital is also called as 'the land of the dawn lit mountains'. This very name tells us that Itanagar is the first place in India which sees the rays of the rising sun. Itanagar is a recent and modern city which has been established only after the 14th-15th century CE.
The Buddhist Temple:
The Itanagar Buddhist temple is situated on the top of the hill of Arunachal Pradesh. This Buddhist temple is one of the recent or in other words the latest Buddhist pilgrimage which has been established in India. The shrine has a yellow roof which reflects the influence of the Tibetan architecture. The stupa which is present in front of the shrine carries the picture of a Buddhist monk. On one of the sides of the temple a tree was planted by His holiness the Dalai Lama.

Regular bus services are available to reach Itanagar from Guwahati and other Northeastern cities.
