As you reach village Pangot near Nainital, you are close to the Jungle Lore Birding Lodge. A five-minute walk down to the lodge rewards you with common stonechat, dark-throated thrush, slaty-headed parakeet, streaked-laughing thrush, red-billed blue magpie, yellow-breasted green finch, russet sparrow etc.

Accommodation

The Jungle Lore Birding Lodge has 3 cottages with attached toilets with running hot & cold water. The main cottage is a living room as well as a bedroom with a futon.

During the day this cottage also serves the purpose of a dining hall. The other two cottages are independent bedrooms with twin beds, one of them having an attic with a bed that can serve as another bedroom within the same cottage.

The main cottage and one other cottage have fireplaces. Heaters are provided in each cottage in winter. Being in the village, electricity is available but the use of generators during power failure is discouraged, instead emergency lights & LPG lamps are used in the nights.

Dining

To satisfy your appetite cooks specializing in Indian & western cuisine churn out the unexpected and special care is taken in hygienic preparation of all meals. Food is grown organically and both Indian and western dishes are served.

Conference and Banquet Facilities

Bird Watching:

Almost 150 species of birds have been recorded in the area. One can have excellent birding opportunities in the lodge itself. Besides, there are numerous walks through the terrace fields into thickly wooded oak forest, which are extremely rewarding.

The two good trails are from the lodge to Baggar village and the other one from the lodge to Kilbury Forest Rest House and on to Cheena Peak. The guide accompanies you on treks.

Camping:

Camping tents: Camping tents for birders who enjoy camping are also available. The tents have common western style toilet & hot shower. Tents are lit with emergency lights
