Kufri Hill Station
Information:
Nestling in the mountains of Shimla is Kufri at an altitude of 9000 ft. As fresh and beautiful as nature meant a hill station to be. Kufri is a tiny hill station located 19-kms from Shimla.Once Kufri was just a "kufer" or Pond. An idyllic spot where weary travelers refreshed themselves amidst the natural flora and fauna. Much later, the British, Charmed by the spot, developed Kufri. The finest ski-slopes were created, and soon Kufri became a favorite retreat.Blessed with some of the most spectacular and beautiful landscapes anywhere, it is a travellers paradise -lofty snow peaks, deep gorges, lush green valleys, fast flowing rivers, enchanting mountain lakes, flower bedecked meadows, beautiful temples and monasteries steeped in time.sightseeing, trekking, mountaineering, fishing, para-gliding, skiing, ice skating and golf everything you will find evrything in Kufri.
Attractions:
Mashru Peak:One can hike through thick forest around Kufri to the Mahasu Peak- the highest peak in Kufri.
Himalayan Nature Park: The Himalayan Nature Park, which has a collection of animals and birds, found only in Himachal Pradesh.
Indira Tourist Park : The Indira Tourist Park is near the Himalayan Nature Park and provides panoramic view of the locations around.

Skiing:
Kufri, near Shimla is one of the oldest places in India to be associated with skiing and the slopes are still in use during winter. Above Kufri, the Mahasu ridge also has some good slopes. There is a range of slopes, including a beginner's run, an advanced slope and slalom run. Himachal Tourism offers ski courses, instruction and has equipment on hire at Kufri. The Skiing season spreads between November to February and the tourist inflow is at its peak during winters.

- By Rail: Nearest railhead is Kalka (86 Km).
- By Road: Accessible by road from Kalka via Kandaghat which is 32 Km short of Shimla, on the Kalka - Shimla Highway. Kandaghat - Chail is 29 Km.
