Gopalpur-on-sea is one of the finest beaches in India. It is a small town crowded with thousands of visitors every year. The Gopalpur-on-sea is named in 18th century after the temple which is dedicated to 'Gopal' one of the many names of the lord Krishna.

  • Dhavaleswar: Dhavaleswar is located just 15 kilometers from Gopalpur-on-sea; it is a beautiful beach with a temple of lord Shiva. This is the main attraction across the country
  • Chilika Lake: Chilika Lake is 45 kilometers from the Gopalpur-on-sea, the over all area of the lake is 1100 square kilometers. This lake is the largest black water lake in India. Number of migrated birds can be seen in this area.

  • By railway: Berhampur railway station is just 16 kilometers from Gopalpur. It is on the Howrah-chennia lines in southeastern railway. You can hire taxis and buses to reach the destination.
  • By roads: There are state transport buses and private luxury buses operated from here to major cities of the state which ply very frequently.
