Juhu Beach

Juhu beach also called as Juhu Chowpati in local language is a famous beach of Mumbai. Always crowded, the beach is situated in one of the cream crowd areas of Mumbai called "Juhu". There are 3 different Juhu beaches, Vile parle juhu, Andheri juhu and Santacruz juhu of which Vile Parle juhu is more famous.

Juhu Beach is the beach situated in Vile Parle (juhu is an area of Vile parle), the suburb of Mumbai. It is one of the must visit tourist spot in Mumbai. Arabian sea guards the beach from west side and to the east it is surrounded by huge swaying coconut palm trees. The white sand adds up to the beauty.

Juhu beach is quite crowded throughout the day. In the morning many Mumbaikars (special term for people living in Mumbai) go on to the beach for exercise. There are different groups who conduct yoga sessions on the beach. You can also see many people doing cardio exercises like running, stepping, skipping and cycling there. Many "Masajwala" (person who does massage to you) are there to help you distressing. This is a different experience which you should have.

The main attraction of Juhu Beach is the sunset. Mainly tourists like to visit here in the evening around 5:30. If you can reach Juhu Beach by this time then you have almost 2 hours in your hand to spend on the beach. You can see most amazing view of sunset from this beach. A long walk on beach with your loved one is an experience to cherish in your heart for lifetime. While sun sets into the Arabian sea, it just looks in thousands of different shades of red and orange colors!

With toy sellers, vendors, different types of rides the place remains busting all the time. You can pamper your taste buds with the local food you get here. Different types of food are available here. The famous food items are bhel puri, pani puri, pav bhaji, chana masla etc. Different types of gola are famous.

Many 5 star hotels like the centaur, sun n sand are just next to the beach.

Best time to visit:

• Any time in the year is a good time to visit Juhu Beach. But the best time to visit is from October to February.
• You should always look for high tide timing and avoid that time.

• Bungalow of the great actor Amitabh Bacchan is just next to the Juhu Beach.
• Different 5 star and seven star hotels
• You can hit different night clubs and pubs like J49, scream etc.

How to get there?

By Road: For Juhu the public transport buses are available from various parts of Mumbai.

By Rail: You have to get down at Vile Parle station of western railway.

By Air: Both domestic and international airport are near by from Juhu Beach. From there you can hire a taxi or auto rickshaw.

• Many 5 star and 3 star hotels are at your service just near the Juhu Beach. As the Juhu area is a cream crowd area, the hotels rates are quite high as compared to rest of suburbs in Mumbai. But if you are ready to pay high, hotels in this area will provide you world class amenities.
• If you budget is limited, you can come and stay in vile parle east, where the rates are very much affordable to you as compared to Juhu area. Also from here the Domestic and International airport are near by.
