    Siri is the 2nd city of Delhi and was made by Sultan Ala-uddin Khilji in about a 1303. It is situated o the north direction of Mehrauli.

    The city was constructed on a main with the palaces and other constructions and had 7-gates to enter/leave the city. Though the fort is now in ruins, excluding its south - eastern gate but it's believed that the chief palace of fort was extremely beautiful and decorated with valuable jewels and pricey stones.

    It is said that the name of the fort was derived from the Hindi word – 'sir' – meaning 'head'. The story is – about 8000 head of the Mongol fighters were interred in walls of the Siri city.

    How to reach the fort :

    • Local buses are available from different points within city or you can hire the auto rickshaws/taxis.
    • Metro rail is also easy option for you.
    • Nizamuddin Rail Station is the nearest rail way station.
    • Central Secretariat is the nearest metro station & the functional metro station also.
    • Indira Gandhi International Airport is the nearest International airway station.
